The year 2026 is going to be a very busy one for the Indian men’s cricket team. According to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme (FTP), the Indian team is scheduled to play 5 Test matches, more than 31 T20 matches, and 15 ODI matches this year. However, the schedule for some bilateral series is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, from March 26 to May 31, Indian players will be busy playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). But the team’s biggest challenge will be defending their title in the ICC T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7. Let’s take a look at the Indian team’s schedule…

7 February : Vs America, Mumbai
12th February : Vs Namibia, Delhi
15th February : Vs Pakistan, Colombo
18th February : Vs Netherlands, Ahmedabad
Team India needs to win three out of the four Test matches.
The Indian team is scheduled to play two Test matches against Sri Lanka and two against New Zealand this year. One Test match against Afghanistan is also proposed. If the Indian team wants to keep its hopes alive for reaching the final of the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle, they will need to win at least three out of these four Test matches.

The Indian team will be incredibly busy from March 2026 to December.
The Indian Premier League IPL 2026 will be from 26th March to 31st may 2026.
The Afghanistan team will visit India in June (1 Test and 3 other matches, dates not yet decided).
The Indian team will travel to England in July.

August 2026-The Indian team will tour Sri Lanka(to play 2 Tests; dates not yet decided).
September 2026- The Indian team will tour Bangladesh (to play 3 ODI 3 T-20 dates not yet decided).
September- October: Meanwhile, the Afghanistan team will visit India to play 3 T20 matches. Following this, the West Indies team will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20 matches in India. The dates have not yet been finalized.
November- Indian Team will be on New Zealand tour where will play 2 Test and 3 ODI and 5 T-20 matches.
December 2026- The Shri Lanka team will come for India tour and they play 3 ODI and 3 T-20.
