South Africa has taken a strong step towards the semi-finals by registering its second consecutive win in the Super 8 of Group 1 of the T-20 World Cup.

On Thursday, in Ahmedabad, the African team ended the unbeaten run of West Indies and defeated them by 9 wickets.

After losing the toss, the Caribbean team, batting first, could reach the score of 176/8 in 20 overs. This score was quite challenging considering their worst start and at one point it seemed that they would not be able to score even 100 runs, because at one point the team had lost 7 wickets for 83 runs.

West Indies lost four wickets in the first four overs. However, the African team, riding on the winning path, made this score look like a dwarf. The team scored 177 runs in the first ball of the 17th over, losing just one wicket.

Captain Aiden Markram scored an unbeaten 82* off 46 balls, while De Kock (47) and Ryan Rickelton (45) also played quick innings. This was the second-highest victory in terms of wickets lost while chasing 150+ runs in the tournament.

With this win, South Africa has secured its place in the World Cup semi final.
